Special Characteristics: 
Large and leggy animal with a short, fat tail; the coat is short haired; the ram has medium sized thick horns triangular in section, which are often divided at the base and look like four horns; the female is hornless; the head is large, the chest deep and broad, and the rump wide (Mason and Maule, 1960).
Main Location: 
Found along the coast of Angola, south of Benguela and particularly in the north of Mossamedes where the Mondombes tribe gives it its name (Mason and Maule, 1960).
